Ryan Johnson, a Sheridan Interactive Multimedia graduate has been announced as a finalist in the 6th annual Canadian New Media Awards to be held on May 29th, 2006 at The Carlu in Toronto.
Ryan’s site is found at http://www.rjworx.com. It makes extensive use of motion graphics and sound and features a number of interactive works from school and since graduating. Ryan has been working at D3 an interactive agency in Mississauga working on beer sites like Beck’s, BudLight and LabattBlue.
Ryan was nominated for his outstanding professional work and spirit of exploration and community in the classroom. Evan Jones and Amy Allcock were both finalists in the 2005 New Media Awards with Evan winning for graduate of the year and Excellence in Cross Platform for his work on ReGenesis Extended Reality at Xenophile.

Hailing from almost every province in Canada, finalists include companies and individuals accomplished in the digital interactive media space. Finalists represent a wide range of government, private and public organizations from every facet of the new media industry including programmers, designers, educators and advocates.
Every year, hundreds of new media professionals submit nominations for Canadian New Media Awards and a panel of esteemed industry experts collaborate online to select the finalists. This year’s cross-country Selection Committee consisted of 135 judges, representing private, public and non-profit sectors and included several finalists and winners from previous years. Over 500 professionals and aspiring industry members are expected to attend this year’s event.

SHERIDAN INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA
The Sheridan one year post-grad Interactive Multimedia Program lets students combine programming and design to make Web applications and tools; games and puzzles; artistic and experimental work; and simulations for education and entertainment. Graduates can do everything from audio visual and motion graphics to database communications and multi-user applications.
